Prairie Iron Was hired to chip loose concrete off of existing bridge piers over the CN Symington Yards and then wrap the piers in a protective mesh to prevent any concrete from falling in the future.

After and Impact Left 2 columns and multiple bottom Chords Damagaed Prairie Iron’s Emergency Repair Services were used to repair and strengthen the damaged columns and severley Damaged bottom chords. The remaining chords and columns were strengthed/ replaced at a later date once the bridge was open to traffic.

Prairie Iron was contacted to repair a damaged expansion joint on the Louise Bridge. Work consisted of removing the damaged plate, site fabbing and installing a new plate during a routine maintenance shutdown.

Gainsborough Creek Acrow Launch and Bridge Erection

Prairie Iron provided manpower and Jacking Services for the lauching of a 50 Meter Acrow Bridge. We were also provided erection services to install 15 bridge girders on the new permanent Bridge over the Gainsborough Creek on PTH 83.

Morris Bridge Rehab
Scope: Bridge Rehabilitation
Prairie Iron provided steel installation services as well as our bridge Jacking Services for the Morris Bridge Rehabilitation on PTH 23 over the Red River. Our scope of work consisted of installing and bolting various steel girder strengthening components ranging from cover plating to new horizontal and verticle angle stiffiners. The job required the hoisting and installation of 65,000KG of girder strengthening material, field drilling and installation of 26,000 bolts, field welding 11,000 nelson studs. Our jacking services were provided to reset and clean bearings at required locations.

Prairie Irons Bridge Jacking and Levelling Services were used to bring pile caps back to proper elevation. We were also tasked with splicing and re-welding the piles back into proper alignment.

Prairie Iron was contracted to provide Jacking Services for the PTH8 & 101 bridge rehabilitation. Prairie Iron Jacked and cribbed each of the Abutments 12” to be able to provide the General contractor with enough clearance to refurbish the bearings.

PR 250 over the Assiniboine River Repair
Scope: Emergency Bridge Repair
After an Impact Left 4 columns and multiple top and bottom Chords Damagaed the bridge on PR 250 over the Assiniboine River was shut down to traffic on September 1, 2015. Being a critical time during the harvest season, Prairie Iron’s Emergency Repair Services were mobilized on site September 4 to begin the repair work. Working through the long weekend Prairie Iron began the process of straightening and reinforcing 4 damaged columns, replacing a severely damaged top chord and multiple bottom chords. Parts were fabricated on site to expedite the repair and to ensure proper fit-up. The repairs were completed September 10th and the bridge re-opened the following day.
